SAD NEWS
Bob Broom passed away on April 15th. Bob's daughter informed us that the family had a private gravesite service on April 22nd. His obituary is on the Fairmount Cemetery website and will be published in The Denver Post on 3 Sundays beginning on April 27th. Bob joined our club on March 2, 2005, and was an active member of our club. Our hearts go out to Bob's Family.
He will be missed!
Eagle Awards - Thank you Justin Brown and the Aurora Fire Department.
Justin Brown was hired in December 2001. He rose through the ranks of Firefighter and Engineer, serving in some of the city of Aurora’s busiest companies, before being promoted to Lieutenant in October 2014. Justin has always had a passion for fitness and the tradition of the Job. He has been the coordinator for Aurora Fire Rescue’s participation in the Denver 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb for many years, securing air packs, bottles and hose packs for the members climbing in honor of the 9/11 fallen firefighters. During these climbs, he leads from the front. At this past year’s observance, he carried a hose pack while climbing all 110 stories – a feat that is often too difficult for younger firefighters. Thanks to Justin's work, Aurora has been the top participating agency nearly every year. In the fire house, Justin exemplifies servant leadership, putting his crew members first. We thank him for his many contributions to the fire department and to the Aurora community.
