Josefina Raphael-Milliner, Andrea Tagtow, and Jack Cregan came and presented to the members about all the great programs, volunteers, volunteer hours, and support CASA is providing to children in the 18th Judicial District. This district covers Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert, and Lincoln counties. 20% of the kids served in CASA live in the 18th District . There are roughly 6751 children living in foster care in Colorado. They are always looking for volunteers to go through their training program. Volunteers report to the court and are involved in and outside the courtroom supporting the children. There are many wrap-around services provided such as: Legacy Project, Educational Advocacy Truancy Court, and Educational Advocacy Tutor. Please watch a few of the following videos for additional insight into CASA:
CASA also has several events coming up through the year to help support their efforts. Please go to their website for more information about what is upcoming. If you have interest in this area please reach out to CASA to become a volunteer, donate to their cause, or participate in an upcoming event.
