Sending Smarter E-mails

Margaret McDonald, Miss Communication, talked about ways to streamline e-mail and save time. Margaret had 5 key tips to sending smarter e-mails:
-
Do not reply to all. (DNR2A), This generates extra and unnecessary e-mail and starts an endless cycle of replies.
-
Write a useful Subject Line. It can be the whole message and also help retrieve it later. Be specific.
-
Pause before you send. Think of ways to minimize it. Proof it later with fresh eyes.
-
Proofread carefully. Think from the reader's point of view. Make sure all the info is there.
-
Make it your goal to STOP THE THREAD. Don't play e-mail ping pong. Use "NRN" for "No Reply Needed".
Margaret's main message, well taken:
"You never look smart when you send a stupid e-mail"

Larry Pisciotta, Chair of the Aurora Rotary Foundation, gave an update on the foundation's status and activities. Larry made a point of recognizing the foundation board. Ev Sequeira and Rick Martin have done a good job of investing the funds.
