Scott McInnis, Candidate for Colorado Governor

Scott Mcinnis

Scott McInnis served five consecutive terms as a state representative and twelve years as a United States CongressmanHe lives in Grand Junction.

300 people lose their jobs every day in Colorado.  That's a statistic but the impact of one person being called into the bosses office, walking past other employees who won't meet that person's eyes and being told they are terminated, drives home the seriousness of Colorado unemployment .  For most people their job is a huge part of their identity and the loss of the job drives a stake into their self-confidence.

Scott's focus is on the four growth engines that can increase the job base:

  • Military, Buckley, Peterson etc.
  • Health care, Anschutz, Veterans, etc.
  • Tourism
  • Energy, natural gas etc.

Scott discussed government policies that are job killers:

  • the strictest anti-drilling regulations in the country that delays granting permits that have caused oil companies to go to neighboring states first.
  • imposition of taxes that caused Amazon.com to boycott Colorado.

Scott said that one of his first acts as governor would be to repeal

unionization of state agencies.

Scott also said he approves the recent Arizona immigration law and opposes any amnesty law.

Business requires a stable environment with predictable business policies to have the confidence to expand.

Scott has 22 years of legislative experience voting on issues.

Scott said his candidacy is like the siren on a police car: help is on the way for policies to help increase the job base.
