Ida Asp, Swedish Exchange Student

Ida Asp

Ida Asp, our Swedish exchange student, told the club about Sweden and her family.  Her home town is Malmo across the fiord from Copenhagen, Denmark.   Her presentation covered Swedish traditions, food, government, architecture, famous Swedes, and famous Swedish products.

Ida has particularly enjoyed skiing with Bob Barrows

Ida has been very active in school at Smoky Hill, participating in swimming, tennis, and choirs.

She plays the violin and recorder and her grades have been excellent.

Ida's ambition is to be an architect and or a diplomat.  To be a diplomat requires fluency in two languages besides Swedish.  She has been taking Spanish as well as English.

Her first host family was the Anthony's.  Currently, she is at Sheila Martin's home.  In a week or two, she will be moving to the Barrows home.

Her parents are coming here June 30 and will travel the southwest until July 31.

It's easy to see why the club is proud to have Ida as our exchange student.
