President Susan opened the meeting while a Power Point program of Jerry Kraus' life played. Jerry's memorial service was held on Tuesday, January 5, 2010.

A Difficult Economy: What should we do?
Asa presented an overview of the economy with some interesting statistics. He predicts that there is still a bumpy ride ahead.
He suggests:
1. Have a cash reserve.
2. Be profitable with positive cash flow.
3. Spend your money close to home.
4. Take advantage of the opportunities of a poor economy.
5. Speak up, do not be quiet with your representatives.

Dave Leonard, with the Salvation Army, announced that he and his wife Geraldine have been transferred to Sheridan, Wyoming as of January 31

Marci Sis brought baby Luke to his first Rotary meeting.
Luke was born 10/14/09 weighing in at 7lbs 14oz.
Marci returns to work Tuesday 1/12/10.

Barbara Rowe appealed to the club for volunteers to help with Shots for Tots on the second Saturday of every month at Hoffman Heights Fire Station. Of most urgent need are volunteers for February 13.

Ida Asp, our Swedish exchange student, filled us in on her activities. Ida spent some time in the mountains skiing at Bob Barrows condo. She also had a solo with Smoky Hills Senior Choir. She is on the swimming team whose season ends in the next two weeks.
Ida has moved to Sheila Martin's home
