President Tom Nicholas and Tanya
The Greek Toga Party to kickoff President Tom's year was held at the Franciscan Center. Rotarian's and guests were met at the door and given a laurel wreath to wear. They were asked to write a wish for President Tom's Rotary year on a scroll, roll and tie it. As part of the program, three of the scrolls were read. Past President Susan honored directors that were on her board with a commemorative letter and a gift for their year of service.
A lady from the Greek Orthodox Church got great participation when she asked people to learn an authentic Greek dance. The excellent sit-down dinner capped the festivities.

Debbie Lynch and Skip Schlenk are to be admired for the creativity of the theme of the party and attention to detail. Would anyone care to guess how many laurel wreaths were made and how long it took to do it?

SHELTERBOX NEWS: HAITI SIX MONTHS ON

|
ShelterBox’s response to the Haiti earthquake has been the biggest, longest and most complex in the 10-year history of the international disaster relief charity.
The first ShelterBox Response Team (SRT) was mobilized 12 minutes after the earthquake struck. Now, six months later, 22,192 ShelterBoxes have been delivered in Haiti, enough aid for more than 220,000 people.
“This has been the most challenging disaster we’ve ever had to face. The scale of the destruction was beyond belief,” said ShelterBox founder Tom Henderson.
More than 50 highly trained SRT members, from all walks of life, have now volunteered in Haiti for ShelterBox.
One of the SRT members who spent time in Haiti is Bill Decker, current chair of the ShelterBox USA board of directors and business owner in Philadelphia.
